In the UK it is commonly referred to as epic trance or also anthem trance. It usually contains beats with longer breakdowns and melodies that give the sense of happiness as if trying to uplift the spirit. This is why it was given the nick-name happy trance.Goa Trance is a much harder style of trance. Sometimes referred to as dance trance, it is seen primarily in the club scene. There are heavy and pulsing melodies that provide the genre with a strong hypnotic rhythm. The sub-bass frequencies make this easy to dance to.
