SpaceballsThis movie is simply amazing....and thats it. This is the funniest movie I've ever seen. John Candy plays a dog-man named barf....short for Barfolomew hehe.Mel Brooks truly showed his true comic genious when writing this movie. The movie is, in essence, an epic soof on Star Wars. Instead of the normal flying craft used in the original Star Wars, Lone Star and Barf fly around in a Winnebago. Also, instead of the infamous Jaba the Hut, Lone Star (equivelant of Luke) and Barf have Pizza the Hut as a nemesis. He is just like Jaba, but he is made of pizza. Along the way, the 2 heroes meet Princess Vespa (Laya) and her partner who is the spoof on C3-PO, but it is a girl. The spaceballs have this evil plan to suck all the air from Vespa's planet, because there is a shortage on their own planet. So the make a giant maid robot with a vacuum, that will suck out the air. While this is going on, the troupe of heroes meet Yogurt (Yoda) and he introduces Lonestar to the power of the Schwarz. When Lonestar and Darth Helmet (Vader) meet on the mega-maid, as it's called, they battle it out, and the mega-maid blows up and everyone lives happily ever after. However, on their journey, Lonestar fell in love with Vespa, but he couldn't do anything because she was royalty. On their way home, Lonestar and Barf get a visit from Yogurt and he tells Lonestar that he is in fact a prince. They instantly rush back to Vespa, and the two of them get married. The end. As i said before, this is the greatest parody I've ever seen. It's so funny that i almost laughed to the point of cramps. I feel that because of the character parodies, as well as enviornmental parodies (Death Star=Mega-Maid), this makes Spaceballs one of Mel brooks' greatest films. |

Young FrankensteinBy far Mel Brooks' greatest achievment. Everyone who has seen this movie will agree that you can't go for 2 minutes without laughing at something. Marty Feldman, who plays Igor, pretty much makes sure of that.Gene Wilder plays Dr. Franksenstein, a professor of medicine at a college. When he gets a message from someone that his father knew, his life gets a big shock as he is whirled away to Transivania to get his fathers will. As he arrives, he meets Igor, and then the hilarity really starts goin'. He eventually starts a romance with his lab assistant, and when his Fiancee comes to visit, he really has to scrfamble so she won't find out. As the movie progresses, all sorts of funnny stuff happens, like Dr. Frankensteins fiancee falling in love with the monster. In the end, the Dr. and his lab assistant give frankenstein a brain, and aftre, they get married. Also, the Dr.'s fiancee married Frankenstein!! I don't know about you, but that's hilarious to me. Seriously though, Marty Feldman makes that movie. His brand of sarcastic comedy makes me lauigh everytime. I will write mor on this guy down below, as well as the other main actors in these flicks. |

Blazing SaddlesSurprisingly racist, yet still funny. Basic story is that a black sheriff comes to a western 1800's type town, and has to try and rule the town. But a group of evil guys want to build a railroad through the town of Rockridge. Now, Gene Wilder must team up with this new sheriff to save the town.Racial slurs and jokes abound in this timeless classic so if you have a weak stomach for that stuff...I wouldn't reccomend this movie. I actually really can't put anything in here because it will just get taken down. Bummer. Anyhow I will say that I definatley would reccomend this movie. |

Mel BrooksHere i will just put some text about Mel Brooks. This guy is acomic genious in my books. Before he made his strat, he often was writing sketches for TV and broadway productions. When he made the TV short "The Critic", he made his start as a director. His first film was "The Producers", followed up by "Blazing Saddles". Blazing Saddles set Brooks in motion towards "parody comedy". He has also made Young Frankenstein, Silent Movie and Spaceballs. Mel doesn't only direct, however. He also acts and often co-stars in his own movies. For instance, in Spaceballs, he was the President of the Spaceballs, and also played the part of Yogurt. Today, he is alive and well and is still known for all of his great movie parodies. |

Gene WilderGene Wilder made his acting debut in a small roll in Bonie and Clyde, and in 1968 he starred in Mel Brooks' "The Producers". Perhaps his most famous and well known role was his playing of Willy Wonka in the filsm "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."Almost anyone who hears the name of that film can associate Gene's face to it. Of course, he also starred in Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein, else i wouldn't have put the two movies on this webpage. Wilder also directed a film or two. In 1975, he made his debut as a director with The Adventures of Sherlocke Holmes Smarter Brother. He also had a hand in making Silver Streak. |

Marty FeldmanPerhaps Marty's most recognizable feature are his eyes. He is pop-eyed, so his eyes seem to be bulging at all times. Born in England, he came into American TV fame with The Dean Martin Show. Later on in his career, he would star in Young Frankenstein and also Silent Movie. In his film The Last Remake of Beau Geste, he directed the film as well as starred in it, follwing in the pattern of Brooks. A while later, he would be in Mexico City where he would die of heart failure. |

Cleavon LittleCleavon is best known for his role as the sheriff in Mel Brooks' Blazing Saddles. And was also in the TV show, Temperatures Rising in the '70s. Not much can be found on this actor, but to me he is deservent of recognition. Now, admittadley, I've only seen him in Blazing Saddles, but he made me laugh, so its cool.I can't really describe the movie on this page because it would either get taken down or if it didn't, I'd probobly get some very nasty e-mails from people. With that said, I will now end this monologue on Cleavon. |
